Lectureships and Awards


Astellas Award

For four consecutive years, the Astellas USA Foundation has selected the Academy to administer the distinguished Astellas Award recognizing outstanding research by an individual or institution that has improved dermatologic public health. Three recipients are selected each year and receive a $30,000 cash award in addition to the Astellas Award.

The 2010 Astellas Award application deadline has passed.

Eugene J. Van Scott Award for Innovative Therapy of the Skin and
Phillip Frost Leadership Lecture

One of the highest honors in dermatology, the Eugene J. Van Scott Award for Innovative Therapy of the Skin and Phillip Frost Leadership Lecture is made possible by a generous donation from Phillip Frost, MD, FAAD. This prestigious Award and Lecture recognizes research that has led to novel treatments and therapies for skin diseases and conditions. The selected recipient receives a cash award of $15,000, and an additional $10,000 for presenting the Phillip Frost Leadership Lecture at the Academy’s Annual Meeting.
