Lectureships and Awards 


Eugene J. Van Scott Award for Innovative Therapy of the Skin and
Phillip Frost Leadership Lecture

One of the highest honors in dermatology, the Eugene J. Van Scott Award for Innovative Therapy of the Skin and Phillip Frost Leadership Lecture is made possible by a generous donation from Phillip Frost, MD, FAAD. This prestigious Award and Lecture recognizes research that has led to novel treatments and therapies for skin diseases and conditions. The selected recipient receives a cash award of $15,000, and an additional $10,000 for presenting the Phillip Frost Leadership Lecture at the Academy’s Annual Meeting.

Nominations and applications for the 2012 Eugene J. Van Scott Award for Innovative Therapy of the Skin and Phillip Frost Leadership Lecture will open in August 2010.

Astellas Award

From 2007 to 2010, the Astellas USA Foundation selected the Academy to administer the distinguished Astellas Award recognizing outstanding research by an individual or institution that has improved dermatologic public health.  Three recipients were selected each year to receive a cash award along with the Astellas Award.  Congratulations to the recipients below on their research accomplishments!

 

The Astellas USA Foundation recently changed their focus and no longer offers the Astellas Award.
